What are forwarders and how do I create them?

As the name would indicate, a 'forward' will copy a message sent to one address to one or more alternate addresses.

Creating Forwarders

  • Login to your mail administration (if you're not sure what your mail administration password is, you can reset it with the instructions from this page)
  • Click on the "Forwards" icon
  • Select "Add Forwarder"
  • Enter the address to forward from
  • Enter the address to forward to

That's it... from this point on any email sent to the initial account will also be copied to the 'forward to' address.

Possible uses

Forwards can come in handy for those who wish to create multiple @domain email addresses yet wish to access all of their email through one Inbox. This can be easily achieved by setting up a series of forwards (examples would be [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected] etc) all routing email to one address of your choosing.

Please refer to the cPanel documentation for setting up Forwarders, here.
