How can I get a free SSL certificate for my site?

Since cPanel released their AutoSSL feature (which generates free SSL certificates through Comodo) we have enabled this service for all shared hosting accounts. So long as there was not already a third-party SSL certificate installed for the site, websites active on our hosting server should already have an SSL certificate through cPanel available, and the site's software would simply need to be updated to use the 'https' secure link. How this would be acomplished may be different depending on the software, so we recommend referring to your software's documentation for details.

Please keep in mind, this feature will not replace existing SSL certificates, so if you would like cPanel to automatically generate a free SSL certificate in place of an expiring one, you can remove the existing SSL certificate in cPanel > Security > SSL/TLS. Certificate generation occurs daily and certificates are generally available within 24-48 hours.

For further information, below you can find information on the AutoSSL feature and documentation for the SSL/TLS section in cPanel:
