Creating Email Accounts

When a new account is initially created, the only email account will be the default account. For instance, if your cPanel username is username, then the default account would be [email protected].

Creating an email account

  • Login to your email administration account - if you are on a reseller or greek server (sigma, delta, etc.) email administration is integrated into the site's cPanel. Otherwise you would have a seperate cPanel login for email administration.

You can check to see what mailserver you are on by entering your domain here:

    http://www.hostrocket.com/mailsetup.php

If you get a result that looks like: "Domain example.com not valid or not currently hosted by this mail system" then your account is either on a reseller or greek server, or your email is not currently hosted with us.

  • Click on the "Email Accounts" icon under the "Email" header

  • Enter the account name - Example: if you wish to create an email address [email protected], you would enter johndoe here

If the domain you are looking to set up an email address for is an Addon Domain and you don't find it in the dropdown menu, please contact support to have that new domain configured on your email administration.

  • Enter a password for the account, and reenter the password on the next line.

  • Click "Create Account"

That's it, you're done. Email sent to the new account can be read via an email client such as Outlook or Mac Mail, or via any of the webmail clients we have available (Horde, RoundCube, or SquirelMail). More details can be found in other FAQs in this topic area.

You can create as many or as few email accounts as you wish; all HostRocket accounts support the creation of an unlimited number of email addresses.
