Can I change my main domain name?

If you would like to change the domain associated with the hosting package that is possible but comes with several warnings.

Several things will be affected by the primary domain change and that changing the primary domain doesn't move any files for you.

Any email accounts that currently exist for [email protected] will turn into [email protected], any subdomains would change from subdomain.domain.com to subdomain.newdomain.com.

The warning when changing the primary domain displays: "Changing the primary domain will also update usernames for any Email, FTP, or Web Disk accounts that use the primary domain. The account’s files and home directories for FTP and Web Disk service accounts will not change

Please keep in mind that you are responsible for updating any scripts or software to utilize the new domain otherwise they will most likely not function properly.

To initiate a change of the main domain associated with your account, please open a support ticket in the HostRocket client area (https://support.hostrocket.com/clientarea.php) and include the following information:

-The current domain associated with the account
-The domain you wish to use as the new main domain associated with the account
-Your 5 digit support pin for account verification purposes
